Rag & Bone Man
Around my place there is this old man, not very old but probably in his late fifties. He collect old newspaper and any paper based publications, in my country we called them the rag and bone man. At least twice a month, we would see him coming around shouting 'Old newspaper...' He is very friendly to everyone and everyone liked him. There are times I would see him mumbling or talking to himself. But if you were to listen closely, he is not talking to himself. He is chanting the Buddhist scripture. This made me think alot.
I was wondering whether he has a clearer purpose in life as compared to me. Everytime I see him, he looks happy and the chanting doesn't seems to stop. Every little comment he gives may sound ridiculous at first but it is wise once you begin to understand it. It seems that the ultimate truth in life resides in the simplicity of living it. This is definitely something that couldn't be explained by science or comprehend by the complex yet emotional human mind. You have to live it to experience it. Learn it or not its up to you.
